Some love stories feel beautifully full-circle — and Lindsey and Michael’s wedding day was exactly that. On September 20, 2025, the couple said “I do” at Chapter II, a venue deeply woven into their family history. With meaningful traditions, a European-inspired aesthetic, and heartfelt DIY details created by the people who love them most, their day was the perfect blend of legacy, intention, and ease.
From a first touch and prayer to a private dinner as husband and wife, every part of their celebration reflected what mattered most: being fully present and starting their forever grounded in faith and family.
What made you choose Chapter II for your wedding venue?
My sister and brother in law are the owners of Chapter II. They purchased the building in October 2024, it used to be the MacMurray Library – which was a college that had closed down and my husband actually graduated from there in 2018. In January of 2025, Michael and I got engaged. I immediately called my sister, Kayla and her husband Eric, and asked if they could have the venue ready by September 20th, 2025. They of course said yes, and worked around the clock to get the venue wedding ready by September. I envisioned getting married out on the front lawn since day one, with The Chapel as our backdrop. My parents and my sister and brother in law both got married in The Chapel and I thought it was the perfect way to start Michael and I’s forever together.
We would love to hear about your wedding! What served as the inspiration for your special day? Did you have a particular theme, style, or color scheme in mind? Did you include any cultural or religious traditions throughout the celebration?
Michael and I asked our guests to wear all black and I had my mom wear blue as my “something blue”. We didn’t have a theme of any sort, but I would say it leaned a bit European.
Which personal details from your wedding truly captured the essence of your relationship as a couple? Additionally, what were some of the highlights or cherished moments from your special day that you hold dear?
I truly felt there was an ease about our day. No rushing or stressing, it simply flowed and we were fully present during the whole day. We had a private dinner as husband and wife before the reception started. I loved being able to have a moment to the two of us where we could really take in everything leading up to that point.
We’d love to discuss the wedding decorations with you. How did you embellish both the ceremony and reception spaces? Did you incorporate any DIY elements into the decor?
Our family is all about DIY. My dad can build just about anything and my mom and sister have the eye for design. My dad built our seating chart which also honored all of our loved ones celebrating from above. He also built pillar boxes for my floral arrangements that sat on each side of the aisle with floral arrangements on top. My mom and grandma made all of our floral arrangements for the ceremony and reception.
Which particular moment of your wedding day held the most anticipation or was exceptionally special to you?
Michael and I did a first touch and prayer. We were back to back and briefly got to talk before officially seeing each other at the alter. Michael prayed over us, our day, and our future.
Throughout the process of planning your wedding, what valuable lesson stood out to you as the most important?
The ultimate goal is we are uniting as one – we are going to come upon road blocks and hard times, but as long as we have each other we can overcome anything.
Do you have any advice or tips, regarding wedding planning or marriage, that you would like to offer to other couples in the midst of planning their special day?
You hear it all the time, but it truly flys by. Enjoy every moment of the planning process, don’t let the opinions of others stop you from doing what you have always dreamt of doing, and don’t sweat the small stuff.
Don’t stress on the day of. Whatever happens is going to happen — and at the end of the day, all that really matters is that you got to marry your best friend.
